Our January membership meeting program will be a medley of pictures from botanical forays in California and beyond. This year Eva Buxton,Terrence Gosliner, Doreen smith and Vernon Smith will share their pictures.
Eva Buxton will show pictures from Scotland and Sweden.
Eva Buxton grew up in Sweden and was introduced to plants by her mother at an early age. Eva has an M.A. in Systematic Biology and Ecology with emphasis on botany, and is now retired from working as the senior botanist for LSA Associates, an environmental consulting firm. Eva is the Conservation and Invasive Species chair for the Marin Chapter of CNPS.
Doreen and Vernon Smith will show pictures taken in 2019, including some from the Mines Road – Del Puerto Canyon area.
Doreen Smith is our Chapter’s irreplaceable Rare Plants expert, and Vernon Smith, is Webmaster of our website and is also our AV volunteer.
Terry Gosliner traveled the length of Namibia documenting the amazing flora and fauna of this world famous terrain. Additionally, he will share pictures of plants found on trips to Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.
Terry Gosliner is a CNPS member and a Curator in the Department of Invertebrate Zoology and Geology at the California Academy of Sciences. While his research focuses on marine biology he has a life-long passion for native California plants. Terry grew up in Marin and explored the plants of the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed from an early age.
